Prayers of Gratitude

While I cannot judge the efficacy of another’s prayer, those that have worked best for me, have been prayers of gratitude.
These prayers are not the beseeching of some distant Deity for something that I feel is missing in my life – something I feel in need of, but rather, the giving of wonder and thanks to the powerfully Loving and Creative Universe, which has already given me everything that I have allowed into my life – including my life’s breath.
If I do desire something more than has currently materialized in my life – then after giving thanks for what I already have, and after recognizing that all possible outcomes are already existing simultaneously – in what many spiritual writers have called ,the ‘Field of Infinite Possibilities’, - I then visualize my desire and at the same time I feel the gratitude that I would feel if it materialized in front of me, because after all, it is this feeling that is the ‘starter motor’ for the chain of events that will bring this vision into material reality.
If you're thinking that this sounds like 'visualisation' then you would be right. It does, of course , entail visualising what you desire. However, with a prayer of gratitude I strart with gratidue for what I already have - and we all have so much - and I allow a higher power than that of my own mind to decide on the final outcome - involving a certain degree of detachment from the result
Finally, I ask that my desire be granted only if it is for the greater good of all involved – because , after all, we can never be fully cognizant of the myriad possible outcomes, 'positive' or 'negative' of any thought or action.
In the end, I decide that whatever the outcome, everything is working out precisely as it should be -no matter what.
